What an incredible night. It’s amazing how God works sometimes. The only POSSIBLE explanation of the night’s events is that God showed up.

It seemed like everyone was late. Even me. I showed up around 2 (about 30 minutes late), and Richard came around 2.30. The rest of my team were mostly late. Half of my band was late. But the goodness and soveriegnty of God was incredible. The service started as usual with hang out – play time. But once worship started, there was something totally different. Amazingly, the worship band messed up many times (me included!) during our set, but God began moving as soon as we moved into the “slow songs.” We started with “Til I see You” and it blew me away how fast the presence of God just showed up. Students that seemed so hard to me were worshipping, and many started tearing up. Some of them were even praying for their friends and seeing God move. By the time we got to the last song (2 songs later), many of them were totally just going for it.

Then the Holy Spirit spoke to me to have students that just wanted God to come to the altar (many of them were already there). As the leaders moved through the altar, God was touching them like crazy, many of them before we even touched them ourselves. It was amazing.

Afterward, I was going to preach, but I just wanted to get feedback on what God was doing. So I asked them how many of them just needed God at that moment, and many of them raised their hands. I then asked them what it was that God was doing in them, to build their faith and to show them that God can touch them at a very young age. It totally rocked. Many of them said that they were going through stuff, and that God had given them strength, confidence, and had restored their faith.

One girl in particuar named Sarah was totally touched by God. The amazing thing was this. She is in 6th grade, and she said that she had been doubting her faith because of different things. But God had touched her like she had never felt before. What blew me away was the fact that she is so young, and is starting to doubt her faith. I didn’t start doing that until high school. God is so good.

The awesome part about the whole thing is the fact that I know what happened last night was genuine. I know a lot of these students, and the stuff that happened last night can’t be faked. Especially at this age. They don’t know how to fake it yet. Another cool thing is seeing how many of them are experiencing God in ways that they never thought possible. One girl said that she felt God so strong, that she just knows that God is with her, always was, and always will be.

Thank you Lord.
