Fusion:LIVE

22 Jun

This week at Innerface, we had some great youth pastor friends of ours, Tyrone and Amy Rinta from Chehalis, Washington, bring their ministry teams to our service. What an awesome night that was! Fusion:LIVE as they were called, did our entire service. It totally rocked.

I remember when I got on their bus to greet everyone, and saw that many were in jeans and sweaters. I was totally blown away, as it was one of the hottest days of the year so far at 102 degrees. Many of the students remembered me from Interview with the Devil that I helped them with a couple of years ago.

The teams they had were: Beats, human video, tech, worship, dance and break, and power. It was an incredible night. For me personally, it was a time of reunion, seeing Tyrone and Amy again, and some of the students that I remember from my trip up there. It was also refreshing to see other teams doing what God has called them to do, and that is minister the Word of God.

During our time of prayer before the service, I remember telling our leaders that we needed to pray against a spirit of comparison. Fusion brought ministry teams, and we have our own ministry teams. It would have been really easy for us to compare what we have vs. what they have, and completely miss out on what God wanted to do. When we prayed, we prayed that the anointing that we want to have in Fiji would come all over Fusion for the service. I believe very strongly in “reap what you sow.” We sowed seeds of a right attitude and a powerful anointing, and I believe we will reap that in Fiji.

Fusion hung out with us before the service, and as soon as the service started, they took over. The power team did feats of strength, breaking bricks, bending bars and ripping phone books. It was pretty cool. Then their beats team (another team that we don’t have) came out, banging on garbage cans and things, that was pretty cool. That led into worship, which was pretty awesome. We did all of our housekeeping stuff, then let them take over the rest of the service.

Tyrone’s message was “One Life, One Chance,” all about giving your very best to God at every opportunity. It was really good stuff. The altar call was simply, “If you want to give God everything, to let him totally touch you, then come. Many of our students responded, and Fusion prayed their guts out for them. It’s always an awesome thing when you humble yourself and let someone else pray for you. I say that, because I know many of the students that got prayed for could easily have been the ones praying. But it showed a maturity in them that they realized that we all need prayer at given times. It was really cool to see.

After dinner, we went to dinner at Chili’s with Matt, Lynn, me, Tyrone, Amy, Jeff, Tracee, and a married soon-to-be-youth-pastors couple from Tyrone’s team. We all had a lot of fun remembering past stories of the Calvary Temple days when we were all there. Fun times.
