So I failed to write about the last two Switch services for 2006, things got a little crazy with lots of changes. The last two services went very well, with many students in attendance. It was a fun time. It went out with a bang. I am excited to see where God takes it beginning winter 07.

Switch went AMAZINGLY well tonight. It was our first of two nights in the small room used by our children’s ministry. We had 39 in attendance last night, with several new visitors. It was really awesome. Also, Richard and Addie were on a retreat, so were MIA for the night. No worries though, the other leaders picked up the ball, and did an amazing job carrying it.

Last night was Switch, and the last one of the semester in the sanctuary. The night was immediately following the two night presentation of At Hell’s Gate where many lives were changed. Due to the weekly festivities, we had our average attendance, but with a few regualrs gone and a few new faces. So we still brought in some visitors.

Last night’s Switch was led by Richard, and despite a short message, he did pretty good overall. I was a little worried that it wouldn’t go so well, but he did a great job. Last night was Switch, and we had another great night. Jason was in charge for the night, so it made things easy for me. I didn’t have to do too much during the service. That is a huge change and relief from last year, where I was in charge every week. We decided to shift who was running each night around each week so that Jason and I could get a little rest, plus let Richard and Addie learn the intricacies of running a service. They have yet to have their night, so we’ll see how it goes.

Tonight was the opening night of switch, and what an awesome night! We had somewhere between 35-38 Jr Highers attend, many of them first time visitors. I wasn’t really sure what to expect since it was the first night in almost 4 months since we have had Switch, and I was totally blown away.

This week Switch starts. Am I excited? Heck yes I am! Last year, Switch was instantly a success with the Jr. Highers. We launched it at the beginning of the school year, and it ran until the end of the school year. It was a lot of work for us, but also a lot of fun for the leaders and the students as well.

The phrase, “Make the Switch” was actually coined by Apple Computer in their campaign to get Windows users to switch to Apple. I have been an Apple fan for quite some time, but have never actually owned one, due mainly to price. Because of that, I am a PC user, even though I would rather have a Mac. Well, I have finally made the switch myself, and purchased a 13 in Macbook.
