I FINALLY finished the GBM website. Although as time goes by, little tweaks here and there find their way to my desk. This site has kind of a web 2.0 feel with the solid colors, transparent windows, and striped bottom. I’m still using flash, as I am continuing to learn CSS, HTML, Java, and other such things. Eventually, I would love to move away from a flash site altogether. But right now, that is what I know.

After many months of evaluating and managing, I have decided to discontinue the use of the Synapse Visual Productions name. While I will continue to do contracted web work, I will no longer be doing it under the umbrella of SVP.

It all boiled down to the fact that with my job and ministry load (the latter of which hasn’t been much, but still), that I need to focus more time and energy on these things. Outside web work and design will continue under the tmazon.com name for now. It has been a fun and educational ride. I shall definitely miss it.

A global community of friends and strangers answering one simple question: What are you doing? Answer on your phone, IM, or right here on the web!

Heard about this on a podcast…It basically let’s the world know what I am doing. Do I care? Do I want the world to know what I am doing 24/7? Well, not necessarily…but I can see how something like this can be attractive to teens.

Teenagers are always looking for attention, for their voice to be heard, to be noticed. While I myself may not be into Twitter much, I can only imagine the countless number of teens that would take advantage of such a thing. Plus, it’s kind of a great way to get deeper into the minds of teenagers.

I’m gonna give it a spin for a bit, see how I like it.

The phrase, “Make the Switch” was actually coined by Apple Computer in their campaign to get Windows users to switch to Apple. I have been an Apple fan for quite some time, but have never actually owned one, due mainly to price. Because of that, I am a PC user, even though I would rather have a Mac. Well, I have finally made the switch myself, and purchased a 13 in Macbook.

When they switched from the PowerPC processor to Intel, I wasn’t sure what to think. Could it be successful? Could Apple still be Apple? Well, the move to Intel is finally complete for Apple, and the move to Apple for me has just begun. I am selling my current notebook, and purchasing the white 13 in Macbook. I have used Tiger before, and love it! And I can’t wait for the new features to be released in Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard early next year.

My brother and my sister both own Macs, and it’s about time I did too, since I convinced both of them to get one. So FINALLY I am getting out of the PC world for my personal computing and switching to a really fine machine. I can’t wait!

Part of the move from my previous web hosting provider to the new one caused my business site, synapsevisual.com to go offline for a few days. Last night the domain completed the transfer, and I was able to post it on the new server as well. Part of that inspired me to start working on a new design for the site, since it was “coming soon” since 2004.

I’ll keep the flash as the primary format, but I’ll add some more things to it as I see fit. I have learned a lot about flash and other web design methods since those days.
